Grandma’s Ashes Accidentally Sold at Yard Sale in Florida
October 15th, 2010 - 12:32 am ICT by Angela Kaye MasonOct 14 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A shopper at a yard sale which was conducted in Fort Walton Beach, Florida unknowingly purchased the ashes of “Grandma Marge” when they bought a potted violet at the sale.
Piper Gaffrey, who is from fort Walton Beach stated to the Northwest Florida Daily News on Wednesday that the plant that contained the ashes of her dead grandmother was accidentally sold at the yard sale over the weekend.
Piper had spread the ashes in the soil of the violet back in February after the woman passed away. Grandma Marge was ninety nine years old when she died. The unknowing shopper became aware of the mishap from the frantic Internet postings which Piper placed online, and returned Grandma Marge to her grand-daughter.
