French Man Claims GlaxoSmithKline Drug Made Him Gay Sex Addict

hamaNantes, Feb 1, (THAINDIAN NEWS) British drug maker GlaxoSmithKline is likely to face a lawsuit by a French man who claims that he was turned into a ‘compulsive gay sex addict’ after he consumed a drug to treat Parkinson’s disease manufactured by the company. Didier Jambart, 51 claims that his behavior underwent a complete metamorphosis after he started taking the Glaxo drug on a regular basis as he became addicted to Internet gambling while turning into a gay sex addict. The 51-year-old father of two also alleges that owing to his disturbed behavior, he tried to take his own life three times but soon after he stopped taking the medicine, the undesired side effects gradually faded.

Didier Jambart who resides in Nantes in France, started taking the drug Requip, made by the British drug-manufacturing firm, since the year 2003 as he suffered from the neural disorder Parkinson’s disease. According to his lawyers, the side-effects of the drug were so drastic that Internet gambling became one of his addictions, owing to which he lost his family’s entire savings and also resorted to stealing to fulfill his habit. At the same time, Didier Jambart also became a ‘compulsive sex addict’ and also went to the extent of cross-dressing and exposing himself on the web which resulted in the 51-year-old man getting raped, his attorney added.

However, Didier Jambart unusual behavior is said to have changed after he stopped taking the medicine about two years later. In the lawsuit, the French man is seeking $610,000 in damages from the British drug maker as Glaxo sold him ‘defective drug.’
