jiles Florida, Mar 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A former prison inmate has been sentenced to 15 years, as he broke the rules of his probation when he tried to break into the Brevard County jail. The 25-year-old Sylvester Jiles was sentenced on Monday by a judge, and ordered to serve 15 years behind bars. In January 2010, he had been convicted on one count of trespassing on the property of the Brevard County Jail. He was also convicted of resisting an officer.

The police authorities said that the former prison inmate had tried to climb a 12-foot fence at the Brevard County Detention Center in August 2009. He was not successful, and was caught by the prison officials. He also needed medical aid, as he had suffered many cuts and bruises as he had tried to jump over the 12-foot barbed wire toped fence. It is really surprising that he was trying to break into the jail, as he had been released just a week before, as he had accepted a plea deal on a manslaughter charge. Later the Jiles pleaded with the police officers and asked them to keep him in prison, as he feared for his life, because he suspected that the victim’s family might take their revenge on him.
