Florida Man Jailed For Sending Facebook Friend Request To Ex-Wife

August 19, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): Interacting with each other via the social networking sites have been gaining ground steadily. Facebook is one such popular media too. While it may be quite possible to poke a friend or send him a dead fish, it is surely difficult to resist the temptation of contacting all and sundry especially when you have such an attractive interface along with the expectation of communicating urgently no matter which part of the world you belong to.

The Sheriff’s Office at Pasco reports a strange incident when it comes to the Facebook. Harry William Bruder, an employee of Bud’s Plumbing at Florida had been estranged from his wife Carol. He had also been subjected to an injunction related to domestic violence.

He has now been arrested for sending a friends request to his ex-wife on Facebook. That too, not once but twice in a row. He has also admitted being guilty of it according to the reports carried by The Smoking Gun.

Although he seems to have realized that it was not the brightest thing that he could have done, he claims that he was upset as the injunction clearly barred him from making any contact with his estranged wife. He has also reportedly changed the password of his wife’s Yahoo mail account.

Bruder’s own Facebook account seems to have been taken off, but the Smoking Gun quotes him saying that he posted a message on its page which described his ex-wife as a liar and an emotionally disturbed woman who required help in order to get over her previous relationships which had been abusive. He describes himself to be the winner as well. It is certainly not quite clear as to why he wanted to add her as a friend when he had such a negative image about her.

He was jailed on Monday as he failed to put up the bail money which amounted to $5,000.
