Drunk dad leaves his 3 year old son locked up in the car for 25 hours
October 20th, 2010 - 10:12 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLondon, Oct 20 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 23-year-old father, Joe Kurihara was so drunk that he forgot where he parked his car with his 3-year-old son inside. The boy was locked in the car for 25 hours.
The little boy, Dylan Kurihara was found later at a parking garage in Pasadena, California after he was declared missing by the police.
According to the police, Joe was arrested while he was walking for public intoxication but failed to mention to the police that he was with a baby.
However several hours later, Joe’s partner and the mother of the boy called the police and reported that her partner and baby had failed to return home.
When the police confronted Joe, he claimed he did not remember that he was with his son and also declared that he was too drunk and didn’t know where he had parked his car.
A local resident at Pasadena identified the boy in Joe’s car at the garage and quickly notified the authorities. Police say when they got to the scene, the boy was a little dehydrated and had urinated on himself. Apart from that, he was in good shape.
And for his actions, Joe has seen his charge increased from public intoxication to child endangerment and he is currently being held on a $10,000 bail bond.
