New York, Mar 16 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, and dog is a man’s best friend, and in this rare incident the both of them became one entity. Kaufmann brought a $20,000 worth of diamond into the Robert Bernard Jewelery Store, but he dropped it inside the store. Before the storeowners Robert Rosin and George Kaufmann could react and pick it up, a dog-named Sully lapped it. Even before they could register the loss of the gem, the golden retriever Solly had swallowed it.

Robert Rosin and George Kaufmann got the shock of their lives when they realized what had happened, but it was already too late to retrieve it from the dog’s mouth. They promptly called a vet, and told them their sorry tale. He said that they should not panic, and there was no need to operate on the golden retriever to remove the huge diamond. He suggested that they ought to wait, and let the diamond pass out undigested in a few days.

It was an unpleasant experience for Kaufmann, as he had to check and follow the dog around and also thoroughly check his wastes. After 3 days, he was rewarded when the dog passed out the diamond in his feces. Then the stone was cleaned properly and also polished, and then returned back to the owner.
