Lincoln, Neb., Nov 17 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A thief stole a $15,000 comic book from a house in Nebraska, police say. The pricey book was stolen and the owner does not when it was picked.

The police say the owner of the Spider-Man comic book says he suspect the book was taken from is house between the 27th of October and last Monday. He probably only realized that it had been missing. The book is among the first collection of the action-hero books which were published in the early 1960s.

During an auction recently, a buyer paid more than $1 million to have a minted copy of one of the original books which was published in 1962. The buyer remains unanimous but the staggering price of the book shocked many people at the time.

In 1962 when the comic was first published, it was sold for 12 cents each. Incredibly, less than 50 years later, someone was ready to pay more than 1 million times that amount for the special copy.

Police have initiated investigation and has called on the public to volunteer information which might eventually lead to the book being found.

The edition is titled “Amazing Fantasy No. 15.”
