Charlotte, N.C., July 26 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A family in North Carolina has been third time lucky with regards to lottery wins. The family could pass as the luckiest in the world because they have defied great odds in winning three lotteries. The family’s biggest win was in 1991 when they won $15.5 million in the New York Lotto.

Kimberley McCauley is the latest member of the McCauley family to win a lottery. She recently won $100,000 when she played the game called 10X the Money. Kimberley said she initially thought she had only won $10,000 but was shocked when her mother explained to her that she has won 10 times that amount.

Kimberley’s luck seems a pale shadow when compared with that of her mother, Amy. After making the huge win in 1991, Amy again won the lottery in 2007 when she picked a prize of $160,000. She made minor wins in 2009 when she played the $130 million Blockbuster lottery.

That fact was not lost on Kimberley when she spoke to the lottery officials in North Carolina. She said that, “I never thought I’d win anything. I figured my mom was hogging all the luck. This is so overwhelming, but it’s a good kind of overwhelming.”
