Bat on a Delta plane terrifies passengers
August 11th, 2011 - 12:34 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattMadison, Aug 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Passengers on a Delta airline from Madison to Atlanta were terrified when a bat took to flight inside the plane. A passenger managed to capture the animal but it was not after pandemonium had broken out in the plane. The pilot was forced to turn the plane around and land in the departure airport.
Footage of the incident was caught on camera by an unidentified passenger. The video has been posted on the Internet. The video has since been aired by CNN’s iReport. The passenger who filmed the incident told the news network that, “I woke up to a small scream and then I saw the bat fly over my head. I grabbed my phone to get some video as my friends would never believe this. It went up and down the aisle about four to five times before being trapped in the back lavatory.”
When flight 5121 landed back in Madison, Delta officials say the plane was thoroughly searched before it was allowed back into the air.
The bat looked terrified in the video and it was frantically looking for an exit from the plane. It ended up in the lavatory and the door was locked.
