Sydney, Apr 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) An Australian restaurant is facing the brunt after they refused entry to a blind man because his guide dog was ‘gay’. Now the restaurant has also been asked to pay compensation to the blind man - Ian Jolly.

Ian Jolly went to the restaurant ‘Thai Spice’ but he was denied entry there, because the staff misunderstood his ‘guide dog’ for a ‘gay dog’. The owners of the restaurant – Hong Hoa Thi To and Anh Hoang Le said that there was a misunderstanding between a waiter who thought that the man was saying that “she wanted to bring a gay dog into the restaurant”. So the 57 years old Ian Jolly couldn’t enjoy a meal at the Thai Spice because of this misunderstanding.

“The staff genuinely believed that Nudge was an ordinary pet dog which had been desexed to become a gay dog,” the owners Hong Hoa Thi To and Anh Hoang Le said in a statement to the South Australia’s Equal Opportunity Tribunal. However the tribunal was not convinced and they have ordered the owners to give a written apology to Ian Jolly, and also to pay $1380 as compensation.
