Paisley, July 25 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Archbishop-elect of Glasgow Philip Tartaglia made some remarks about MP David Cairns’ death. He alleged that David died because of being gay. It ought to be mentioned here that MP David Cairns died in 2011 from acute pancreatitis. He was just 44 years old.

Even though Philip hadn’t named anyone yet it was abundantly clear from his comments, who he was talking about. He had said that, “If what I have heard is true about the relationship between the physical and mental health of gay men, if it is true, then society is being very quiet about it. Recently in Scotland there was a gay Catholic MP who died at the age of 44 or so, and nobody said anything, and why his body should just shut down at that age? Obviously he could have had a disease that would have killed anybody.”

Philip is totally against same-sex marriage and his comments about David have stirred a hornet’s nest. However Philip’s supporters have said in his defense that the Archbishop-elect wasn’t talking about David, yet it is clear from his comments that the subject that he is talking about is David indeed.
