Andy Ray Harris charged with eating a live baby rat
June 23rd, 2011 - 1:49 am ICT by Aishwarya BhattTooele, June 22 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Andy Ray Harris has been charged with aggravated animal abuse because he ate a live baby rat. In fact he was so happy with his accomplishment that he also made a video of the whole episode and posted it on the social networking site Facebook.
When Andy was presented in Tooele’s 3rd District Court to the judge then he pleaded not guilty to the aggravated cruelty to an animal charge. Judge Robert Adkins was presiding over at the hearing. Andy’s lawyer wanted more time to prepare for Andy’s defense.
Outside the court room, the media was present in full swing, but Andy and his mother didn’t oblige them with a quote. Andy’s lawyer also didn’t speak to the media and instead choose to make a quick exit from a back door.
According to reports, the 31 years old Andy was asked to eat the live rat as a challenge. He did so and onlookers also made a video of the whole episode and then they posted it on the internet. The case came into the limelight when the offending video was seen by a PETA official and they raised a hue and cry over the matter.
