Fraser Valley, July 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Five hundred thousand bees have been estimated to have been stolen from Fraser Valley. This disaster occurred to the A.B.C beekeeper at the beginning of the month of July.

Approximately 3600 kilograms of honey was also stolen. The beekeeper suffered a loss of $100000 after the theft. This is an act that has been occurring in the last ten to fifteen years. Many have shifted or stopped the beekeeping business because they are afraid loosing their invested capital through theft.

Bee keeping is a very good and profitable business but it has its misfortunes as well. A report was made by the police regarding the stealing of numerous beehives. On Thursday when the beekeeper went to check on his bees and he was surprised to discover that 100 beehives were missing, an estimation of a half a million bees.

What amused the beekeeper is how the thief found the location of the bee hives. This is because the bee hives were located far from the passersbys. Therefore, it is evident that the thief has been monitoring the beehives for a while. Investigations are still carried out to come up with the ones responsible for the theft. It has been requested that any one who has the information about the theft case should report it to the Abbotsford Police Department.
