Cranston, R.I., Feb 13 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Officials in Rhode Island say the 336 million Powerball Jackpot winning ticket was purchased at the local supermarket Stop & Shop. Officials say the winner has not yet come forward.

The win is the sixth largest in the history of the United States. The odds of having all the five matching numbers and the Powerball number is placed at a staggering 1 in 175 million. Sales of Powerball Jackpot tickets have also doubled since officials increased the ticket price from $1 to $2.

A spokesperson of Stop & Shop told reporters that the winning ticket was purchased at a store in Newport.

42 states in the United States play the Powerball. The winning numbers as announced last Saturday were 1-10-37-52-57 and the Powerball was 11. Media reports say there is only one winning number.

To redeem the prize money, there are some requirements that the person must satisfy. MSNBC reported that “The new multimillionaire has not stepped forward and the lottery has not said where the winning ticket was sold. To win, the player had to match all of Saturday’s five numbers, 1-10-37-52-57, and Powerball number 11.”

US Virgin Islands also play the game.
