3000-pound boat’s propeller gets stolen
March 24th, 2011 - 7:32 pm ICT by Aishwarya BhattLee County, Mar 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Investigators are shocked as to how a 3,000-pound boat’s propeller was stolen. The investigators are working to ensure that they get to the bottom of the mystery.
The propeller was found missing on the 15th of March. The owner of the propeller, David London, told the police that he had hung the propeller as a decorative piece at his compound. The 54-year-old was particularly shocked that nobody noticed the propeller being taken away because it would require at least a towing car to move the structure.
A neighbor, Reed Hieatzman, told reporters that, “We were coming home the other night and we noticed it was gone. It kind of worries you that somebody would have the gall to come down here and do something like that.”
The police have found a lead. They noticed drag marks at the location where the propeller was stolen from. They believe that the propeller was moved to a vehicle.
London said the four-bladed brass propeller is valued at about $6,000. He indicated that he has had the propeller for about 15 years and was upset that it had been stolen.
Investigation is being carried out by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
