Delhi, Oct 27 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A 120-year-old Indian man has achieved a rare feat by marrying a woman half his age. Hazi Abdu Noor got married on Sunday and his son played an influential part in pairing him with his 60-year-old wife.

Noor told Times of India that his real age is 120 years although the official age on his voter ID card is 116 years. He lost his wife about six years ago and his son says it was necessary to get another bride for the older man.

The oldest man on record to have married did so at the age of 106 years. If Noor’s age could be verified, he will enter into the records as the world’s oldest man. Currently, the Guinness Book of Records lists Japan’s Jiroemon Kimura as the oldest living person in the world. He is 114 years old.

Noor’s son, Hazi Azir Uddin, told reporters that it was not easy to get a bride for his aged dad. He was quoted as saying that, “It was not an easy job to find a bride for a 100-year-old. However, by the grace of god, we have found a new mother, though she’s half his age. She was married once early in life. Her husband died and she has no children.”
