Edna Parker - World's Oldest PersonAccording to a UCLA gerontology expert and recognised by Guinness World Records as the world’s oldest person since the 2007 death in Japan of Ms Yone Minagawa, who was four months her senior.

Mrs Edna Parker died at the age 115.

Mrs Edna Parker, who became the world’s oldest person more than a year ago, has died at age 115 and 220 days old. She died at a nursing home in Shelbyville, Indiana. Ms Maria de Jesus of Portugal, who was born on Sept 10, 1893. Even Parker’s two sisters lived long lives. Georgia lived to be 99, and her sister Opal was 88 when she died. Mrs Parker outlived her two sons, Clifford and Earl Jr. She also had five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

Parker was the 14th oldest validated supercentenarian in history and she happened to Mrs Parker live in the same nursing home as Ms Sandy Allen, whom Guinness recognised as the world’s tallest woman until her death in August.

Edna Parker , the widow of Earl, her husband died in 1938 of a heart attack and lived alone in their famr house till the age of 100 and later moved to her son Clifford’s home.
