Westminster Dog Show 2010 Held Recently

dog-showFeb 16, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Here is a good news for all the dog lovers. The 134th Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show has already started. The show is popularly known as the Westminster Dog Show. The first-class breeds were seen marching at the Madison Square Garden, New York City. There were almost 2,500 adorable dogs of more than 150 breeds who were seen in the Westminster Dog Show 2010. The live dog show was featured at around 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET in several CNBC TV networks on Feb 15.

Back in the year 1877, the first Westminster Dog Show started. This show is reported to be the second oldest canine events in the United States. Westminster Dog Show has apparently followed the footsteps of the Kentucky Derby, which is the oldest in history according to reports.

The well groomed dogs looked great. Some of the furry dogs were really adorable. It was evident that the owners spent good time grooming their dogs. Some of the rarest breeds were seen in the Westminster Dog Show 2010. The dogs that came from all over the world stayed at hotels around the Big Apple.

Prior to the show, Marilu Novy from Columbus, an owner of a Portuguese water dog called Jackson, was very hopeful. Marilu Novy said that there is a high chance of Jackson winning the Best of Breed against the 18 other Portuguese water dogs, as it was the No. 3 Portuguese water dog in the country. It got the honor in an Atlanta show on February 5.

Westminster Dog Show 2010 attracted a lot of audience. The dog lovers who were not physically present at the Madison Square Garden, New York City watched it on Television.
