New Delhi, July 16 (IANS) Bored of visiting cramped spas in the neighbourhood malls and wish to enjoy something spacious and lavish? Visit beautician and aroma therapist Blossom Kochhar’s Ishwar Spa that certainly promises a refreshing change.
Kochhar has opened Ishwar Spa in one of the farmhouses in Gadipur, Mehrauli, in south Delhi. Spread over 2.5 acres of land, the spa boasts of space, greenery and a lot of facilities like an indoor swimming pool, gymnasium, hair salon, beauty section, manicure and pedicure areas and separate spa rooms.
As you enter, a smiling Ganesha idol will welcome you, so will the aromatic fragrance lingering in the air, holding the promise of a soothing and relaxing experience.
The two-storey spa has a manicure, pedicure and hair section along the reception area, overlooking an indoor swimming pool from one side and a lush green garden on the other.
The interior is subtle and quaint with off-white walls and elegant wooden furniture, giving the place a traditional yet sophisticated look.
The service list at the spa boasts of a number of massages, but if you want something different, go for the aromatherapy massage, their signature offering.
The massage starts off with a “foot ritual”, the masseuse washes your feet in lukewarm water. The therapist adds a few drops of jasmine oil and salt in it to remove negative energy from the body.
During the massage, any aromatic oil, say jasmine, is first applied on your head and then with rhythmic motions is spread all over the body with constant pressure and circular movements.
Special attention is given to the lower back and the neck - the most problem-prone areas - and the feeling of relaxation is so strong that you might even doze off.
Once over, head for a shower and then sip a green tea to feel rejuvenated.
This massage is good for controlling anxiety, relieves depression, improves skin tone and heals the body.
The only drawback is the location; one can get lost if not properly directed, but if you want a luscious spa experience, do make an effort.
Location: KBL Farm No. 17, Gadipur, Mehrauli, New Delhi.
Duration: 90 minutes.
Price: Rs.3,000.
