Toys ‘R’ Us to launch Tabeo tablet for kids

New York, Sept 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) End of the times when the tablet was primarily marketed to adult professionals, business population or to anybody but kids. The leading retailer of toys and products for kids, Toys “R” Us has announced plans of launching a tablet just for kids very soon.

The tablet being named as “Tabeo” is a wifi enabled tablet specifically designed for kids and has got a HDMI port with a 7 inch capacitive display. The tablet runs on Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and would include about 50 free apps for kids. According to the toymaker, the tablet and the apps would educate and entertain the kids at the same time.

In a statement, Toys “R” Us vice president, Troy Peterson said “Over the past year, we’ve spent considerable time talking to parents and children to determine what features and functions they really want in a kids’ tablet, resulting in Tabeo”.

He further said “We are proud that Tabeo offers robust and flexible parental controls that can help protect children as they surf the Internet, and we are pleased to offer the tabeo App Store, which features only kid-safe content carefully curated by the Toys ‘R’ Us team.”

The tablet will be available for purchase after October 21st and would be sold at $149.99. Tabeo would be available via the retail outlets as well as online website of Toys “R” Us
