Tailban warns Pak not consider it weak, to abide by peace pactJune 9th, 2008 - 11:42 am ICT by ANI
Peshawar, June 9 (ANI): The Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is learnt to have distributed pamphlets among the journalists in the Hangu town of North West Frontier Province (NWFP), asserting that the Pakistan government should not consider them weak and that it was an organised power that could not be thwarted easily.
The pamphlets warned the Pakistan government against fighting America s war on terror in Pakistan , as its ramifications could be dangerous.
Singed by Commander Nazir of the TTP, the pamphlets cautioned the NWFP government to stick to their peace agreement, and added that if the government violated the treaty, the Taliban could open new fronts against the government.
A peace agreement was signed between the local tribals extremists and the NWFP government a couple of weeks ago which envisaged provisions whereby the provincial government would not launch attacks on the extremists, and in return the latter would not carry out suicide attacks on the government machinery or the innocent inhabitants of the area.
