London , July 29 (ANI): Russell Crowe and Sienna Millers remake of Robin Hood will not be going on floors anytime soon, it has emerged.

The Hollywood blockbuster cannot go into production next month as planned, owing to some problems in the script and the looming actors” strike.

As most of the film has to be shot in Sherwood Forest , no filming will take palce until next spring because “the film’’s forest locations need to be green”, according to movie studio Universal.

“The current version of the screenplay is not yet where the studio and the film-makers want it to be in terms of realising the full value of the story,” The Telegraph quoted the studio, as saying in a statement to Hollywood Reporter.

They added that the “cloud of the Screen Actors” Guild strike” had cast a pall over the production.

“Universal could have moved forward with one of these challenges, but the confluence of the three caused the studio to reconsider and take the time for all conditions to be optimal, they said.

The statement also said that director Ridley Scott and Crowe, who will play the Sheriff of Nottingham, would stick with project.

This revisionist take on the Robin Hood legend, would see Nottingham as the hero and Robin as the villain, while Miller is caught up in a love triangle with the two men. (ANI)
