Sand artist creates image on earth quake
September 20th, 2011 - 12:51 am ICT by IANSBhubaneswar, Sep 19 (IANS) Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik Monday created an image on the beach of his home town Puri in Orissa as a tribute to the victims of the recent earth quake that has so far killed 42 people.
The image he created along with his students used around six tonnes of sand. Large number of tourists visited the sculpture site, Pattnaik told IANS. He said they took about five hours to complete the image.
Pattnaik who has participated in more than 47 international sand sculpture championships across the world and is the brand ambassador of the state-run National Aluminium Company Ltd.
