London, March 4 (IANS) Italian designer Roberto Cavalli might face legal action as his licensing company Ittierre SpA has filed a lawsuit against him.
Cavalli who showcased his latest collection to buyers and the press in Milan last week, is being sued by the company over his recent comments about turning the brand around, reports femalefirst.co.uk.

He also cancelled his catwalk show for his label Just Cavalli at the Milan Fashion Week (MFW) after its distributor Ittierre filed for bankruptcy.

Cavalli had said: “I have made the decision to safeguard the image and clients of Just Cavalli. The difficult situation of Ittierre doesn’t give me the guarantee or security that my young line will be as avant-garde as always.”

Lawyers have now been called in to protect Ittierre SpA regarding industrial, economic and image damages derived from Cavalli’s repeated comments in reference to the Just Cavalli license.

Ittierre spokesperson also said the decision to abandon Just Cavalli’s show at MFW was unilateral and unjustified.
