Rina Dhaka makes jute dazzle with Swarovski crystals (With image)
June 8th, 2011 - 7:51 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 8 (IANS) Rina Dhaka says her new summer collection brings two worlds together as she has mixed the shine of Swarovski crystals with jute. The designer has dedicated it to contemporary women.
“Summer is all about going pastel, looking calm in flowy silhouettes and adding a dash of bling to an otherwise refreshing ensemble. My look this summer is bling yet understated modern and rustic. Simply a coming together of two diverse worlds,” said Dhaka, one of India’s leading couturiers.
The collection will feature elegant dresses and saris in pale and nude color palette with fabrics like cotton, chiffon, linen tulle and crinkle cotton. The rich blending of cream linen jerseys fused with borderlines reveals the modern chic and the Indian look.
“I have showed the collection at Anthropology store in the US and received amazing response. My forte remains western wear and the pieces can be worn separately. The collection blends the ancient heritage with a modern twist and targets contemporary women who want to look glamorous,” Dhaka, who has been designing for the past 15 years, told IANS.
The collection, which is priced between Rs.5,000 and Rs.40,000, is available at her store in DLF Emporio Mall.
