Jaipur, May 25 (ANI): To prevent the three day long Gujjar protest in Rajasthan which has so far claimed 31 lives in the last two days, State Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje would hold talks with Gujjar leader Kirori Singh Bainsla today.
Officials in Jaipur said the Gujjar leader had agreed to drive down to the CMs office to talk about the Gujjars demand of inclusion in the Scheduled Tribes list.
Many trains from Delhi to Ahmedabad and Mumbai and those crossing areas along Rajasthan-Madhya Pradesh border were suspended or re-routed today and Jaipur-Agra highway remains blocked.
Police opened fire in clashes at Sikandra in Dausa District on Saturday, which killed 21 Gujjars and injured at least 20 others, sources said.
The authorities confirmed only 15 dead and the critically injured were admitted to Jaipurs Sawai Man Singh Hospital.
Gujjar protests are being led by Colonel (retired) Kirori Singh Bainsla who has now gone on an indefinite fast but confirmed his talks with the chief minister.
He is urging his supporters to remain calm, and led his supporters in rail roko andolan. (ANI)
