Rail services between Delhi and Rajasthan restored

Jaipur, June 7 (ANI): Railway services between Delhi and various destinations in Rajasthan were restored to near normalcy today after two weeks of disruption due to agitation by the Gujjars who are demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status for the community.

A Northern Railway official said that the train services have been partially restored in Rajasthan on Saturday and eight trains that were suspended due to the agitation will run as per their schedule

The trains restored on Saturday are Ahmedabad-Haridwar Express, Delhi-Jodhpur Mandore Express, Delhi Sarai Rohilla-Jodhpur Express, New Delhi- Ahmedabad Rajdhani Express, Ala Hazrat Express, Jaipur-Amritsar Express, Porbander-Delhi Sarai Rohilla Express and Ashram Express.

Jodhpur Sampark Kranti Express will ply from Sunday, while Jaisalmer Express and Jammu- Delhi-Ajmer Express have been partially restored.

The rail route between Delhi and Jaipur was cleared after the police removed women protesters blocking the tracks yesterday. However, the rail services on Gangapur City-Bayana section in Kota Division may take more time to be restored. (ANI)
