Prom Dress From Gum Wrapper

April 13, 2010 (Pen Men at Work): A high school junior from Iowa, Elizabeth Rasmuson, got a matchless thought when it came to selecting a dress for her prom. She will be wearing a dress made up of gum wrappers, which she made herself.
Elizabeth began to amass gum wrappers last August to create the dress and a matching vest for her boyfriend, Jordan Weaver. The pioneering thought of creating a prom dress of gum wrappers came to her after making a jacket of wrappers last year. She proclaimed, “I heard about somebody making a dress out of duct tape or something one time.
Both Elizabeth and Jordan commenced accumulating gum rappers from last august. They purchased a box full of gums and distributed them among their friends, but made sure to have the wrappers back. When asked about exactly how many wrappers she has utilized to make the dress, she responded that she discontinued counting after 200. Since wrappers can sever easily, Elizabeth finished the dress with a vinyl top coat.
Elizabeth mother, Dawn Rasmuson, while speaking about her daughter’s out-of-the-box approach, articulated, “I think it is really admirable for her. I mean she is a junior in high school and, in today’s world, a lot of the girls are worried about fitting in. They don’t want to stand out for the wrong reason. So, it is really cool and so unique.”
Though Elizabeth has declared that she would not make anything else of gum wrapper anymore, she might just transform her mind.
