Police recovers 7 stolen horses from SrinagarJune 18th, 2008 - 11:28 pm ICT by ANI
Srinagar , June 18 (ANI): We have heard about people stealing cars, bikes and bicycles but we have never come across news about horses being stolen. But Nowgam Police has arrested a thief and has recovered seven horses from different places in Srinagar and Pahalgam.
Police Station Nowgam had registered an FIR on June 6, 2006 when it received information that 11 horses have been stolen from different persons of Kanihama Nowgam.
According to these complaint thieves had stolen two horses of Mohammad Shah, one horse of Bashir Ahmed sheikh, four horses of Mohammad Maqbool Ganie, two horses of Mohammad Ashraf Shah, one horse of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, and one horse of Mohammad sultan.
Police was successful in nabbing one thief Tariq Ahmad Ganie, resident of Kanihama Nowgam and seven horses have been recovered so far while one thief Bashir Ahmad Bhat resident of Saller Batpora Pahalgam, Anantnag is still at large. (ANI)
