Pets ‘more attractive’ than lovers on Valentine’s Day!
February 9th, 2010 - 5:13 pm ICT by ANI ( Leave a comment )Melbourne, Feb 09 (ANI): Many people across the world don’t mind spending Valentine’s Day with their loved pets, a new study has found.
A total of 24,000 people in 23 countries were quizzed in the poll.
It was found that 49 percent of residents in Turkey want to spend the special day with an animal over a partner or spouse, while at least 10 percent of the French plan to do the same.
Also, one-quarter of Aussie couples find spending time with their pets more attractive than their spouse on Valentine’s Day.
Even in United States, 27 percent people shoes their favorite pet over partner.
Meanwhile, a Melbourne-based community support group, Single Volunteers, has teamed up with Pet Rescue to promote pet-friendly Valentine’s Day dating.
It will give opportunity to people to meet while making a difference by working hands-on with discarded animals.
“Women outnumber the available men two to one,” News.com.au quoted Melina Schamroth, Single Volunteers founder, as saying.
She added: “Men can be reluctant to attend traditional match-making events, but they need to understand that these events are not about being single, rather about being a person who cares about their community and just happens to be single.” (ANI)
