Pak parliament should discuss terrorism not ISI, says expert

Islamabad, Aug 8 (ANI): Commenting on an organised campaign against the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and bring the matter in Parliament, a leading Pakistani columnist has said that people who are infatuated with Indian democracy should know that the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) has never been discussed in the Indian Parliament.

In Pakistan , what is required to be discussed in the Parliament is how to face the spectre of extremism and terrorism, The Post quoted Mohammad Jamil, as saying.

The Parliament should debate that in such a dire situation when threats are being hurled by Afghan President Hamid Karzai and the US , how to respond to those threats. The coalition government should see the conspiracy and the threat nation faces from India-Israel-Afghanistan-US axis, he added.

Counter-terrorism cooperation between India and Israel involves the exchange of information on terrorists groups, their finances, recruitment patterns, training and operations.

Israel has sold India movement sensors and other monitoring equipment to track infiltration across the Line of Control (LoC). Israel also sold Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to India for high-altitude surveillance and has also offered to provide anti-insurgency training to Indian forces.

An excerpt from the paper released by Project on India and the Subcontinent reads: The Indo-Israeli strategic partnership has far-reaching policy implications for the US . Burgeoning Indo-Israeli ties could potentially advance American interests in the Indian Ocean by counteracting the ”arc of instability” region from the Middle East to Pakistan . The US will benefit from having two of its democratic, pro-Western allies work together.

Jamil also criticise unimaginative leadership in most Muslim countries, and says that the entire GDP of 57 Muslim countries is less than the GDP of Germany alone is a sad reflection of ineptness on the part of leaderships of these countries, especially those who have been endowed with natural resources like oil and gas.
