NWFP CM says his govt undeterred by militants threats

Peshawar , July 29 (ANI): Following repeated threats from the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) that they would increase their attacks on NWFP government establishments, the Provincial Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti has said his government did not fear the threatening statements by militants, and added that anyone challenging the governments writ would be dealt with sternly.
Speaking to media persons after chairing a meeting of the provincial cabinet, Hoti said the provincial government would join hands with the federal government to tackle terrorism.
Militant chief Maulana Fazlullah had been repeatedly alleging that the provincial government was being dictated by the US and demanded the troops immediate withdrawal.
The NWFP government was fully aware of the peoples safety and security needs and would not allow anyone to disturb the law and order, he said and added that there was no need to take dictation from the US and the ANP-led government would only accept the peoples dictation.
Hoti said that the peace agreement with Swat militants was intact and there would be no operation in Swat if peace was restored there. He added that some elements were trying to sabotage the peace agreement with militants in Swat, but the provincial government would take those elements head on. (ANI)
