Jan 1 (THAINDIAN NEWS) It’s January 1, 2010 and you wake to a splitting headache otherwise known as a hangover. Too much alcohol the night before is probably the number one cause of almost all hangovers. To avoid a hangover you need to avoid alcohol completely, but for those celebrating the New Year at parties most will find that highly unlikely. There are some remedies you can try to help ease the pain of that hangover; many being tested by experts have been known to actually work. That is not to say they will work for you, but you can at least try.

Hydrate: making sure you get plenty of fluids such as water or fruit juice.

No caffeine: you want to avoid caffeine since it tends to dehydrate you.

Vitamin C: drinking orange juice between cocktails will help to reduce the effects alcohol.

Healthy eating: pasta or even fish can help keep you feel ing full ultimately leading to less consumption of alcohol.

Avoid ibuprofen: using over the counter medication like Tylenol or ibuprofen containing products will only intensify your hangover by increasing blood flow having the same affects as alcohol.

Enjoy the holiday and always have a designated driver.
