Modern Brits addicted to coffee, chocolate and FacebookFebruary 11th, 2009 - 12:32 pm ICT by ANI
London, Feb 11 (ANI): Other than coffee and chocolates, most modern day Britons are addicted to social networking site Facebook, according to a survey.
The study into modern lifestyles has come out with results that are far away from traditional favourites such as drugs, sex and cigarettes that used to top charts earlier.
In the poll on behavioural patterns, researchers examined the lifestyles of 3,000 people under the age of 30, reports the Daily Express.
The survey comes in line with the launch of Rehab, a programme examining rehabilitation and addiction on the Living channel.
The participants were questioned on substances and habits they spent the most money on.
Also they were quizzed on the habits they had previously attempted to cut down on or give up and the modern impulses ruling lives in 2009.
Coffee came at the first place in the list of the 10 most common modern addictions, followed by chocolate consumption.
And at the third place was Facebook, with most Britons claiming that they cant do without logging on the website time and again.
Surprisingly, the most popular vices of alcohol and drugs didn”t even make the top 10 addictions.
Vanity was a more traditional popular vice with beauty products scooping fourth most common addiction.
Reflecting the credit crunch the survey revealed that the practice of checking bank accounts turned out to be the fifth most common addiction. (ANI)
