London, June 10 (ANI): A new study has confirmed what many women already knew: men really are wed to their sheds.
According to a poll of 2,000 men, men aged between 30 and 76 spend a total of nearly three-and-a-half years tinkering in their garage or shed.
Although around 40 percent claim to be doing DIY (Do It Yourself), but they are actually just passing their time, reports The Mirror.
And, for more than a third, the shed or garage is the only place at home where they can unwind.
Sylvia Marshall, of DIY forum www.cosyhomesonline.com behind the survey, said: “The findings show how obsessed men are with their sheds - often using them to escape the pressures of work or family life.
“Like a woman’s handbag - a shed is full of personal things which no one else should touch.”
Top 10 things done in a shed:
1 Tinker with tools. 2 Gather junk. 3 Pot plants. 4 Mend/make furniture. 5 Work 6 Maintain or revamp cars, bikes etc. 7 Play music. 8 Drink beer. 9 Read the paper. 10 Have a cigarette. (ANI)
