Onboard Air India One, July 8 (ANI): Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh while informing the Indian media delegation accompanying him to the Hokaido G8 Summit, appeared assured and confident about the Samajwadi Party support to his UPA government on the US-India civil nuclear cooperation deal and other issues.
When a member of media delegation posed a question about the kind of support that his government possessed in the wake of the Left Parties closed to deciding on withdrawal of outside support to his government, Dr. Singh said, I am confident about the support that my government has.
When this reply was given a majority of media team looked towards Shahid Siddiqui, a Samajwadi Party MP and the editor of the Urdu-Hindi newspaper, Nai Duniya and noticed him smiling.
That in itself appeared to be an indication that the Samajwadi Party has for all practical purposes decided to support the UPA government.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister, who has arrived in the resort city of Sapporo, is scheduled today to meet the UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon besides holding a series of bilateral meeting. (ANI)
