Kuala Lumpur, April 4 (ANI): A Malaysian woman is suing her husband for a million dollars over the loss of her virginity.

The 30-year-old teacher is claiming RM3 million in damages for false promises over their marriage, which collapsed after her in-laws disapproved.

In the suit filed in the High Court three weeks ago, the woman has requested the court to declare the marriage null and void.

She has also blamed her parents-in-law for inducing their son to breach the contract of marriage, and for causing her to suffer humiliation and mental torture.

The woman claims that she met her husband two years ago while she was studying at a local university.

After going around for a few months, she claimed he persuaded her to sleep with him, promising to marry her later.

Based on his promise, she said, she relented and lost her virginity that very night in a hotel.

The couple then registered their marriage, but they never went through the customary Chinese marriage rites because the womans parents-in-laws were against the relationship.

According to the womans lawyer Ernest Chua, she was not only considered a misfit but her parents even called her a bad woman and vowed never to make her part of the family.

“What she has is a marriage on paper only. It’s not the kind we all know and the kind all women want. It’s a marriage obtained by misrepresentation,” The New Straits Times quoted Chua, as saying. (ANI)
