Lush staff strips off for the environment!May 15th, 2008 - 5:44 pm ICT by admin
Wellington, May 15 (ANI): In a bid to protect the environment, staff at Lush in Christchurch launched an unwrap campaign, publicising the evils of too much packaging by stripping off.
Six shop assistants distributed leaflets outside the handmade-cosmetics store in the City Mall, wearing nothing but aprons, reports Stuff.co.nz.
Katherine Smith, one of the staff members, said that they wanted little prompting to bare their bums because it was such a good cause.
“Too much packaging is killing the environment,” she said.
She got no argument over their noble cause from construction workers across the road.
Anthony Bateman said: “It’s made my day. I don’t know what it’s about, but I got two brochures.”
Manager Emily Yorke, who did not strip, said that whatever the staff did was purely out of commitment to the green cause and did not get anything extra in their pay for bearing the chilly conditions.
“I’m really proud of everyone for getting out there and doing it. They believe enough to just do it to get the message out there,” she said. (ANI)
