Lesbian Teen PromMississippi, Mar 24, (THAINDIAN NEWS) The lesbian teen who created a furor over the right to take her lesbian partner to a school prom has something to feel good about. The Mississippi federal court has given the verdict that the school board that decided to cancel the prom over the issue did violate her rights. The girl wanted to wear a tuxedo at the prom as well. However, the court has not issued an order to reinstate the prom. The girl who is a student of the Itawamba Agricultural High School created headlines when she took legal action against the school board. She was lucky enough to get the support of the America Civil Liberties Union and it encouraged her to fight for her rights.

She was heartbroken when the prom was called off. The court did not rule to reinstate the prom but it also said that if the parents of the students arrange a privately held prom everyone will be able to attend it. Constance McMillen also got the support of the LGBT support groups in the USA. Now she can amend the case and claim damage. She said in a statement that the ruling of the court has made her confident.

Constance McMillen also got the support from her father who advised her to not to bow down to the pressures. She has plans to attend the Mississippi Safe Schools Coalition’s Second Chance Prom aimed at queer students. However, all students can attend it. ACLU said on its part that the court ruling is a victory for the student and it also emphasizes a win for the LGBT community.
