lesbian_1652704c A latest study has found that the children raised by Lesbian parents perform at par with other kids in terms of academics and social skills.

These kids are also found to be more matured than their peers and exhibit less aggressiveness. The researchers also thin that the kids brought up by lesbian parents are more adjustable and accommodative by nature.

This finding may come as a boon for the LGBT community. Dr. Nanette Gartrell, the author of the study is involved with the University of California. She thinks that the kids raise by lesbian parents do better because Lesbians are very committed and involved by nature.

The finding holds true for the children raised by gay parents as well.

Andrew Roffman, a Family therapist in New York University Langone Medical Center agreed with the finding of the study and said that the trend would be similar for gay male parents too.

The researchers think that one’s sexual orientation does not interfere with parenting as such and the maturity of the parents matter a lot. Even in the instances where Lesbian parents split up, the kids did well compared to the kids from traditional families.

The social stigma attached to same sex relationships have not affected the mental growth of the kids of lesbian parents the study has shown.

The lesbian parents usually inform their kids about the prevailing social set up and the barriers they may have to face in life. Therefore, these kids get acquainted with the realities of life much earlier.

They learn things from their parents which other kids have to learn from life when they grow up.
