India condemns assassination bid on Karzai

New Delhi, Apr 27 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday condemned the assassination attempt on Afghan President Hamid Karzai in Kabul, and described it as a “dastardly act.

“India condemns the dastardly attack in Kabul,” said Mukherjee.

He also expressed relief that Karzai was unhurt.

“India condemns the dastardly attack in Kabul,” said Mukherjee.

He also asked the international community to show zero tolerance for terrorism.

Karzai escaped an automatic gunfire that broke out at a military ceremony in Kabul today.

The Taliban has claimed the responsibility for attacking Karzai when he was witnessing the parade that was being held to mark 16 years since the overthrow of the country’s Soviet-backed rule.

At least one person was killed and 11 wounded in the attack. (ANI)
