Hyderabad to host seminar on Islamic art, culture
October 24th, 2011 - 8:49 pm ICT by IANSHyderabad, Oct 24 (IANS) A three-day international seminar on Islamic art and culture will be inaugurated by Vice President Mohammed Hamid Ansari here from Nov 25, organizing secretary Khalid Saeed said Monday.
The Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), Hyderabad, the Institute of Objective Studies, New Delhi, and the Muslim Educational, Social and Cultural Organization (MESCO), Hyderabad, are organizing it.
The aim of the seminar is to discuss and share the research experiences of the cultural inter-connectedness of Islamic civilization in the context of Arabia, Persia, Central Asia, South-East Asia and India, said a statement from MANUU.
“The seminar is being organized to highlight the different spheres of Islamic culture through different angles and the contribution of Muslims in different fields of life through the ages,” Saeed said.
