How to Get an All-Natural Manicure at Home

Aug 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Although nicely manicured nails can complete a fashion statement and add that certain sparkle to any outfit, the chemicals and preservatives which most salons use can often do more damage than people realize, by drying out the nails, and cuticles ,and making them dull, and ugly, and may even cause them to crack and bleed. There is good news, however, since just by simply checking labels, and giving yourself an all natural manicure, you can keep your nails healthy, and still have them look beautiful.

In order to have a gorgeous and yet healthy manicure, you should first remove any old nail polish with nail polish remover on a cotton ball. Next, cut away any hangnails with a cuticle remover. You should then allow your nails to soak in warm, soapy water for at least five minutes to soften the skin around the nails and the cuticles.

You will then need to clean your nails using an organic-bristled nail brush, and a natural soap such as glycerin. Remove dirt and dead skin by brushing over the tops of the nails, across the cuticles, and underneath the nails.

The nails should then be cut to the length which you desire. File them with an emery board, remembering to only file in one direction towards the middle of the nail, and do not file the sides. Take a wooden cuticle stick and gently push back the cuticles. A drop of essential oil can be used on any stubborn areas.

To make your nails have a nice sheen, they should now be buffed. You can also add a drop of henna paste to each nail to give them a long lasting natural color. Wait for a few minutes and wash away the paste. The color remaining is natural and will last a long time. The longer the paste is left on the nails, the darker the color will be. Complete the job by applying all natural hand lotion.
