Oct 25, (THAINDIAN NEWS) Pumpkin carving is fun but seems a little wasteful when people throw away the pumpkin seeds, which can be turned into a tasty edible dish with a little innovation. Many people though are somehow unaware of the simple process of roasting pumpkin seeds in an oven. The requirement for the dish is one and a half cup of whole pumpkin seeds, two teaspoons of melted butter and a pinch of salt. The oven should be preheated to a temperature of 300 degrees Fahrenheit (150 degrees C) and the pumpkin seeds should be properly tossed into a bowl with melted butter and salt.
The last step is to bake the preparation for 45 minutes by spreading it in a single layer on a baking sheet. Stir occasionally and finish your cooking when the seeds turn golden brown. Pumpkin seeds make for great snacks and are not very time consuming either. It makes more sense to collect the seeds when carving a pumpkin and keep it in store for the Halloween night. Pumpkins themselves make for a variety of tasty dishes but the seeds are more easy to cook and are delicious to eat.
Another recipe for preparing the pumpkin seeds is to clean the seeds beforehand throughly in water, put half a tablespoon of oil in a pan and pour the seeds in it. Pour another half tablespoon of oil on the seeds and sprinkle them with two tablespoons of cinnamon, 3 tablespoons of Brown sugar and two tablespoon of ginger. The mixture should be cooked for 15 minutes at a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Let it cool and it is ready to be served.
