Halloween Sales all set to beat Valentines Day sales

Retailers and supermarkets are all set to places orders worth millions of pounds for material related to Halloween. The Halloween season is a favorite with the young and the old alike, and that may be the primary reason why Halloween is more popular than Valentines Day.
Retailer Tesco has confessed their 2010 Halloween campaign is the most elaborate and biggest ever. They are planning to sell almost 55 million pounds of various Halloween products. They plan to sell around 1.4 million pumpkins, 2 million toffee apples and over 1.5 million Halloween costumes too.
Tesco UK marketing director Carolyn Bradley revealed that for them Halloween is a major financial season and their sales of the myriad Halloween products that they offer for sale. She also divulged that their Halloween sales have increased by 300% in the last 5 years.
“This year, with Halloween falling on a Sunday, customers will be looking to celebrate at the weekend. Research from last year revealed that the size of Halloween parties is growing for people in their late teens and twenties, with parties of 60 people now becoming the norm,” according to Tesco’s Carolyn Bradley.
