New York, Oct 31 (THAINDIAN NEWS) All over the world, people observe the 31st of October as the Halloween night. One thing that is very consistent with the observation of the day throughout the world is the costumes that are worn on the day. If you decide to take part in the observation of the day, it is very likely that you will be wearing a costume to a party.

The earliest documented use of costume for the Halloween was in Scotland in the year 1895. Though Halloween has been around for centuries prior to that, the Americans and British were not known to use any costumes until the early 1900s.

When the use of costumes began, anything considered weird was allowed to pass but when the television and radio changed the medium of entertainment in the 1920s and 30s, the idea of fashioning costumes after characters started. Some famous characters were depicted and that has been the norm up to this day.

Michael Jackson’s Halloween costumes are considered the most popular. There are also Halloween costumes of such stars like Tina Turner, Lady Gaga, the Star Trek characters among several others.
