Lesbian Teen Prom Aberdeen, Mar 24 (THAINDIAN NEWS) A federal judge has made the ruling in the Mississippi lesbian teen prom case, and he said that he wouldn’t force the school to hold the prom. The American Civil Liberties Union sued in U.S. District Court, in order to ask the Itawamba County school district to hold the prom, in which a lesbian student wanted to wear a tuxedo and bring her girlfriend to the prom too.

The U.S. District Judge Glen H. Davidson steadfastly said no to a preliminary injunction, and said that instead he would hold a trial instead. However the date for the trial hasn’t been set as yet, but since the date of the prom was the 2nd of April, so it might be too late.

It may be recalled that a school in Mississippi has decided to cancel the school as a lesbian student wanted to come dressed as a guy (by wearing a tuxedo), and also wanted to bring her girlfriend. The district policy of the Itawamba County School says that the dates of the senior prom should be of the opposite sex. Even though the officials asked them to change the policies, the school board met, and decided that they wouldn’t take things lying down, and they instead canceled the prom itself.
