London, May 10 (THAINDIAN NEWS) Regulators in Europe are considering approving a new condom which has a gel that can keep erection. The condom was manufactured by Futura Medical and it has been licensed for Durex.

The condom which is called CSD500 has been hailed as the “Viagra condom.” Linking the condom to Viagra might be a little bit misplaced because they are intended for different people. While Viagra has been made to correct erectile dysfunction, CSD500 has quite a different purpose. The condoms were made for people who can have erection but have hard time sustaining it especially when using a condom.

The new condom has a gel which helps keep blood flowing through the penis. The increased blood flow helps to sustain erection. The product is close to getting to the market in Europe pretty soon but the same cannot be said for the United States.

TIMES reports that US regulators will require further clinical trials before the product could be allowed into the country. Getting those trials done can take years meaning the product might not be available in the United States anytime soon.

Currently, condom use is one of the ways that scientists recommend in the fight against the spread of STDs including HIV/AIDS.
