New York, Feb 6 (THAINDIAN NEWS) This list is sure going to raise a few cheers. The Men’s Health Magazine has compiled a list of the most drunkest cities in US. The list was compiled from the death rates from alcoholic liver disease, drunk driving car crashes, frequency of binge-drinking in the past month, number of DUI arrests, and severity of DUI penalties. Fresno, California won the biggest honors on the list, and it was followed by Reno on the second position. Billings claimed the 3rd place, and Riverside was placed 4th on the list.
At the same time there were the “least drunk” cities list too. On this sober list, Boston wins the top honors as the ‘least drunk city’. Boston was followed by Yonkers on the second place, and Rochester was on the 3rd place. Salt Lake City, Miami, Newark, Durham, New York City, Fort Wayne, and Manchester claimed the other slots on this ‘least-drunk-cities’.
This annual study to name the most-drunkest and the ‘least drunk’ cities has been going on for almost 10 years. These 2 lists are quite important as they portray the drinking habits of the Americans, and why some lesser known cities notch the top spots. These lists also talk about the negative aspects alcohol consumption has on the psyche of the community at large. Critics and analysts have found their own ways to interpret the list, as some analysts are of the opinion that the drunkest cities in the United States are GOP strongholds.

How could New Orleans, LA or Port Angeles, WA not make the list top 20? More drunks, AAA programs in both these cities than one would believe.
