Mumbai, Aug 3 (IANS) Designer Pia Pauro tried to bring the spirit and feel to Mexico to Mumbai through her fashion show at the ongoing Lakme Fashion Week Winter/Festive 2012 here Friday. Actress Monica Dogra added to the zing of the show.

The collection was named ‘Espiritu de Mexico’, and Pauro said: “The styling is inspired from Acapulco vibe of the 1970s.”

The stage was simple, and the music didn’t do much to reflect the Mexican feel of the garments. However, the collection was vibrant with exotic prints in a range of bold colours to earthy ones.

Monica, who was seen in “Dhobi Ghat”, walked as the showstopper wearing a one-shoulder, blingy jumpsuit in a mix of silver and gold.

She was all praise for the line.

“Pia’s collection was very edgy, feminine and graceful. I love the prints and the colours she used for the outfits,” she said.
